Fees Set for Dissident and Sizzling

Breednet - Friday May 12

Two proven sires with over 120 individual winners this season between them will comprise the 2023 Riverdene Stud stallion roster, and at a reduced advertised service fee from last year’s covering season despite a steady stream of ongoing success.

Stud manager Amanda Elliot confirmed that the Group 1 racehorses and black-type producing sires DISSIDENT and SIZZLING will again be in service at Riverdene Stud this coming season, with both stallions to be available at a fee of $5,500 payable on live foal.

Dissident

Currently, DISSIDENT can be found in the top 20-odd stallions in the country based on individual winners, his tally of 74 (to 10 May) being highly consistent with his past two completed seasons (89 in 2021/22 & 79 in 2020/21).

Similarly, SIZZLING is again rapidly approaching 50 individual winners for the current season — a feat he comfortably achieved in 2021/22 (65), 2020/21 (60) & 2019/20 (59).

This season’s tally features the winner of the $500,000 Newhaven Park Country Championships Final, Sizzle Minizzle.

SIZZLING’s profile was also further enhanced in very recent time when his Group performed daughter Blazing Miss was sold at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for the not so inconsiderable sum of $590,000.

Sizzling

In confirming the reduced service fees for DISSIDENT and SIZZLING this coming season, Elliot remarked: “I think we have two stallions priced right for the breed-to-race people.

These horses give them an opportunity to get to stallions representing Australia’s leading sirelines and with Group 1 race winning ability — including an Australian HOTY.

“They are both producing winners every day, and both are approaching $20 million in progeny earnings with DISSIDENT and SIZZLING having just five and six crops to race respectively.”
