Cable Bay Filly Tiz Time Opens Account

Mark Smith - Thursday May 11

The 2yo Cable Bay (IRE) filly Tiz Time opened her winning account when downing the highly touted Grunt debutant Miraval Rose in a maiden plate over 1200m at Pakenham on Thursday.

Ridden by Arron Lynch for Andrea Leek, Tiz Time overpowered Miraval Rose by a length and a quarter, with the fast-finishing Dundeel colt Et Tu Brute a head back in third.

Second on debut over the same course and distance on April 13, Tiz Time was a bargain-basement $6,500 purchase for her owner Adam Stevens when offered by Morningside at the 2021 Inglis August (Late) Online Sale.

"That was incredible. She's tough, she's little, and she's a superstar," Andrea Leek enthused.

"One thing you can't see is the heart inside, and she has got one.

"We talked about turning her out, hoping she would be good enough to keep for the spring, but we will go back and discuss what we will do."

Bred by Woodside Park Stud, Tiz Time is the second winner from three to race for the 2-time winning Snitzel mare Tiz My View.

A $15,000 purchase for Calvados Bloodstock at the 2021 Inglis May (Early) Online Sale, Tiz My View is a daughter of the stakes-winning Cee's Tizzy (USA) mare Miss Tizzy (USA).

It proved to be a profitable investment.

Reoffered by Coolmore Stud to the 2022 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale, Tiz My View was a $350,000 purchase for Team Lucky Vega when carrying a filly by Hanseatic.

Tiz My View was covered by Written Tycoon last spring.

Tiz Time is the third 2yo winner of the season for former shuttler Cable Bay (IRE). He comes from the third of four crops left by the Group II-winning son of Invincible Spirit.
