Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 28

There were six heats for juveniles at Rosehill on Friday morning that included an unraced heat winner for Trapeze Artist and two winners by Pariah, who has packed his bags and departed Arrowfield to stand at Oaklands Stud in Queensland.

Trained by Team Hawkes, Trapeze Artist colt Circassian was having his second trial this preparation and surged to the line in what looked a strong heat to win by a neck over Dundeel colt Vomo Island, who was a tragedy beaten when second at his only start back in February. A quiet third was $3million Zoustar colt Kandinsky Abstract, the full brother to Sunlight having his second trial.

Circassian runs for Alan Bell and is from stakes-winning Darci Brahma mare Another Coup, who goes back to an elite European Black Type family featuring Group I winners Light Jig and Seek Again.

One of two heat winners for Pariah, the Annabel Neasham trained colt Ostraka won by nearly two lengths at his second trial this preparation.

Ostraka is a three-quarter brother to lightning fast Group III winner Anders, whose first weanlings will be offered on Monday and Tuesday. He is from terrific producer Madam Andree, who has had four winners from five to raced and aside from Anders has thrown two more stakes-placed horses in Battleground and Satin Love.

Additional heat winners were: Ramius (Russian Revolution), Martindale Dancer (Pariah), Lulumon (Vancouver) and Ballistix (Dundeel).
