Fifth Winner for Blue Point

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 26

The fast start at stud being enjoyed by Darley shuttler Blue Point (IRE) continued overnight in the UK when two year--old colt Sir Bolton won on debut at Yarmouth to be the fifth winner from nine runners by the speed son of Shamardal.

Sir Bolton was a close second over the line in the 5f maiden, but was awarded the race in the steward’s room adding another success to the hot winning run being enjoyed by Amo Racing.

A 155,000 euro purchase from the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale, Sir Bolton was bred by Godolphin and is the first winner for stakes-winning Invincible Spirit mare Firebird Song, who is closely related to Group I winning sire Territories.

He has an interesting pedigree tracing in tail female line to influential matriarch Helen Street, the dam of Street Cry and grand-dam of Shamardal.

Blue Point yearlings have been super popular in Australia this year and he returns to Darley Victoria at a fee of $44,000 this spring.
