Fresh from siring a new Australian stakes-winner last weekend in Stretan Angel, Darley shuttler Harry Angel (IRE) also sired a new stakes-winner in France overnight with Marshman taking out the Group III Prix Sigy (1100m) at Chantilly.
The Karl Burke trained colt was having his first run of the year following a successful juvenile season when he won twice and was second in the Group III Gimcrack Stakes at York.
He won the sprint by a length and a quarter with another Harry Angel in Vicious Angel finishing third.
Marshman was bought by Nick Bradley Racing/K Burke at the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale last year for 38,000 pounds after making just 5,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 3.
Marshman is the first winner from winning Galileo mare White Rosa, a daughter of Group III winner Dhanyata.
He is the seventh stakes-winner worldwide for Harry Angel, who returns to Australia for Darley this spring at the increased fee of $33,000 up from $16,500 last year.
Harry Angel is running second on the Australian First Season Sires list by earnings with four winners, three of which are stakes-winners – Arkansaw Kid, Stretan Angel and Tom Kitten.
