Sir Patrick Hogan Unreserved Dispersal Sale launches next week

Buyers will have the opportunity to continue the legacy of iconic breeder Sir Patrick Hogan with the unreserved dispersal of the Cambridge Stud founder’s stock on Gavelhouse Plus.

The unreserved dispersal of the Cambridge Stud founder’s stock on Gavelhouse Plus launches on April 19.

Weanlings, yearlings, some racing propositions and broodmares comprise the 31 strong catalogue that will launch at the conclusion of the NZB National Online Yearling Sale which closes from 6pm (NZT) on Wednesday 19 April.

Among the youngstock are opportunities for pin-hookers and end users with x-rays and scopes to be available in the NZB Online Repository with sires the likes of Admire Mars, Almanzor, Deep Field, Dundeel, Hello Youmzain, Per Incanto, Savabeel, The Autumn Sun, U S Navy Flag, Wootton Bassett and Yes Yes Yes represented.   

Covering sires featured in the sale include Almanzor, El Roca, Embellish, Proisir, Shocking, Tarzino, Tivaci and Vadamos.

U S Navy Flag (USA) x Legramor weanling filly

An August-born foal, this filly is out of a multiple race winning Commands mare, and by New Zealand’s leading first season sire of two-year-old winners U S Navy Flag. She is a granddaughter of Champion three-year-old Katie Lee, with this the family of other outstanding females the like of Miss Jessie Jay, Banchee and Gee I Jane.

Wootton Bassett x Romantic Vision weanling colt

Born in early October, this colt is the very first Southern Hemisphere-bred progeny for sale by the exciting sire Wootton Bassett. He is the third foal from the High Chaparral mare Romantic Vision who is a sister to the multiple Group Three winner Tralee Rose.

Savabeel x Claddagh filly

This two-year-old filly is a three-quarter relation to the Joint 2018-19 New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Queen of Diamonds. She has been in full work, having trialled twice to date. Bred on the golden cross, she is by New Zealand’s almost perennial Champion Sire Savabeel and is out of a multiple race winning O’Reilly mare.

Crown Jewels (NZ)

An Australian race winning Tavistock mare, Crown Jewels is one of the many available descendants from the illustrious Eight Carat family which continues to blossom with numerous black-type performers generation after generation. She is a half-sister to the Group Two winner Forever Loved and is in foal to leading New Zealand sire Proisir, sire of five individual Group One winners this season alone.

Spring Delight (NZ)

Another daughter of Tavistock, Spring Delight was a hearty Group Three placed race mare of Sir Patrick and Lady Justine’s who won on three occasions. Most notably, she is a half-sister to the Group Three winner Estelle Collection, dam of 2013-14 Australian horse of the year Lankan Rupee. A maiden mare, she is in foal to Almanzor, sire of Gr.1 VRC Derby winner Manzoice along with five individual Group One place-getters from his first two southern hemisphere crops.
