One to Watch – Chantilly

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 12

Champion sire Fastnet Rock has had success in both hemispheres and in Europe one of his leading lights has been Group I Epsom Oaks winner Qualify, whose three year-old colt by Shamardal made it two wins in as many starts at Chantilly overnight.

A homebred for Godolphin, the Andre Fabre trained colt Swing Vote was strong to the line showing all the stamina of his dam when kicking on for a neck win in the Prix de Frauenfeld (2000m) with five lengths back to the third horse.

John Ferguson Bloodstock acting for Godolphin purchased Qualify from the 2015 Tattersalls December Mares Sale for 1.6million guineas and she went to Dubawi for her first three season at stud producing a winner and a place-getter from two runners.

Swing Vote is her fourth foal and will no doubt be looking towards Black Type races.

Qualify has a two year-old filly by Kingman and had a colt last year by Lope de Vega.
