Coolmore Perfect Clearance and Colts for the Future

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 5

Achieving 100% clearance is not always easy at the Inglis Australian Yearling Sale where there is often a selective market, however the Coolmore Australia team will not take a single horse back to Jerry’s Plains after selling all 30 yearlings offered for $11,910,000.

Top seller from Coolmore was the Pierro half-sister to Learning to Fly, who made a big statement on the first day when selling for $1.75million to Mick Wallace / Gandharvi.

She will head to the same trainer as Learning to Fly in Annabel Neasham and is the third foal from brilliant Fastnet Rock Group IIII winner Ennis Hill, whose full brother Acrobat covered 188 mares in his first season at Coolmore last spring.

Learning to Fly’s sire Justify (USA) also proved popular with all 10 yearlings from his second crop offered at this sale finding new owners at an average price of $344,000.

Top sellers for Justify were a filly from Invincibella that sold for $750,000 to Yulong and a colt from Nakeeta Jane for $700,000 to Mulcaster Bloodstock / Waller Racing.

Both were consigned by Coolmore and are first foals of outstanding Group I winning mares that are part of the farm’s growing stellar broodmare band.

$1.6million Colt Snitzel x Ultimate Fever – Lime Country Thoroughbreds

$1.5million Colt Snitzel Ms Bad Behavior (Can) - Arrowfield

$1.2 million Colt I Am Invincible x Overstep – Yarraman Park
