Newgate China Horse Club Syndicate Strike $1.1 Million Snitzel Colt

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 3

The powerful China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock / Trilogy stallion syndicate struck early at Inglis Easter on Monday securing a Snitzel colt from Arrowfield Stud for $1.1million.

Lot 58 sold for $1.1million, click to see his page.

He is the third foal of Champion South African Sprinter Carry on Alice (SthAFr), whose two year-old Snitzel colt Altruist sold for $400,000 at this sale last year to De Burgh Equine / OTI Racing and finished fourth on debut in the Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview.

The Newgate / China Horse Club and partners syndicate have enjoyed great success with Snitzel, securing his Group I winning sons Wild Ruler and In the Congo, who will both be at stud this spring alongside another higely successful sire son of Snitzel in Russian Revolution.

Their current season two year-old colts have been very competitive in the big races with a quinella in the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes for Militarize and Don Corleone last Saturday.

“We see him very much as being in the Wild Ruler mould,” Henry Field told Jemma Cutting of Inglis.

“He’s from a champion South African mare as was In The Congo and I have the utmost respect for Arrowfield and we love buying from them.”
