First Season Sires at Inglis Easter – Can They Make An Impact?

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 29

The Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale of 457 lots is very much dominated by proven sires, but there will still be interest in the first season sires with the three most represented being Too Darn Hot (GB), Castelvecchio and Pierata.

As you can see in the graph above, it’s a sale very much focused on the proven big guns with a distinct Arrowfield flavour to the top end with four of the top five most represented sires all standing at Arrowfield in 2020, Written Tycoon later moving to Yulong in Victoria.

Dubawi’s Champion 2YO and 3YO Colt Too Darn Hot had 14 yearlings sell earlier this year at Magic Millions at an average $276,786 with his top seller the $1million filly from Enbihaar sold by Vinery Stud and bought by McKeever Bloodstock/Watership Down/Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing.
