Pride of Dubai Filly Wins WA Oaks

Tara Madgwick - Sunday March 26

The hot run being enjoyed by Pride of Dubai continued at Ascot on Saturday when his progressive staying filly She’s Fit scored a dominant win in the $300,000 Group III West Australian Oaks (2400m).

Trained by Dan Morton and ridden by Chris Parnham, She’s Fit was a last start winner of the Listed Natasha Stakes over 2200m and relished the slightly longer trip for the Oaks to draw clear and win by nearly two lengths.

She led for home and was strong to the line becoming the second Oaks winner in her family as her dam is a half-sister to Group I VRC Oaks winner Special Harmony.

It was the second win in six starts for the promising filly, who has won over $276,000 in prizemoney.

A $50,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase for her trainer from the Amelia Park Racing & Breeding draft, She’s Fit is the first winner for blue-blood High Chaparral (IRE) mare Harpoon, a half-sister to triple Group I winning filly Special Harmony, the dam of stakes-winner Little Surfer Girl, who is in turn the dam of current Group I winning $3.3million earner Fangirl.

Pride of Dubai

She’s Fit was the second stakes-winner of the weekend for Pride of Dubai, whose quality mare Sirileo Miss won the Group II MVRC Sunline Stakes on Friday night.
