Brave Smash Filly Szabo Goes Two for Two

Mark Smith - Friday March 17

Favourite backers had few worries when the Brave Smash (JPN) filly Szarbo kept her record at a perfect two for two at over 800m at Ipswich on Friday.

Ridden by Billie-Rose Andrew for Brenton Andrew, Szarbo tracked the leader North Of Eli. It was plain sailing except for a momentary scare when extracting from behind the son of Headwater.

The winner over the same track and distance on December 22, Szarbo defeated North Of Eli by a long neck, with the Territories (IRE) filly         Assymetry a further one and a quarter length back in third.

Szabo was a bargain basement $10,000 purchase for her trainer from the Eureka Stud draft at the 2022 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, and she has already banked three times that.

Bred by Esplin Family, the daughter of Brave Smash (JPN) is the first foal of the talented Charge Forward mare Something Secret.

Szabo a $10,000 MM National Sale yearling

A winner at Rosehill and Warwick Farm for Jason Coyle, Something Secret is a daughter of the Listed Widden Stakes and Listed Illawarra Classic winner Better Land (Secret Savings).

Something Secret does not have a yearling this season but foaled a Rich Enuff colt on September 19 and was covered by All Too Hard.
