12 out of 12 for Legendary Blue Hen

Tara Madgwick - Thursday March 9

It was only a modest maiden at Goulburn on a Thursday, but a well-deserved victory for Russian Revolution filly Miss Faberge was an important one for her famous dam Mica’s Pride.

Trained by John Sargent, Miss Faberge is the last of 12 named foals from star producer Mica’s Pride, who was 21 when she was born at Segenhoe Stud in 2019.

Miss Faberge has been competitive in some good races finishing fourth in both the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes and Group III Magic Night Stakes last year, but she was resuming from a spell at Goulburn and looking to break her maiden at her tenth start.

She finished with a late surge for Robbie Dolan to score a neck win in the 1000m dash and will no doubt take confidence from the win.

A homebred for Go Bloodstock, Miss Faberge is the 12th winner from 12 to race so Mica’s Pride can enjoy her retirement with the perfect record.

Miss Faberge as a foal at Segenhoe, the last living foal of a much-loved blue hen.

Her star offspring include four time Group I winning $7million earner Criterion, Group I winner Comin’ Through, Group II winner Varenna Miss and stakes-winner Silently, the dam of Group III winner Muwaary.

Miss Faberge may well go on to achieve more on the track, but the breeding barn is where her real future will unfold.
