Clinton Payne - Friday October 13

The Racenet Speedmaps and form analysts have combined to give punters a leg-up in the $2 million Group I Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Racenet's Speedmaps spokesman Greg Polson said this year's Caulfield Guineas will be truly run with plenty of speedsters in the race.

"The Mission is a horse that only knows one way and he'll be running them along," Polson said.

"Perast and Sirconni will be prominent with Showtime, Gold Standard and Catchy slotting in behind them getting cosy trailing runs.

"Godolphin's runners Kementari and Sanctioned will need some luck from their wide gates while Royal Symphony will only a have a couple behind him."

Corporate bookie Ladbrokes are offering $4.20 for the favourite Royal Symphony, $4.60 Catchy, $5 Kementari, $9.50 Gold Standard, $10 Perast, $11 Showtime with the other runners at $20 or better.

"It's an open race this year with as many as eight chances," Racenet form analyst Cameron Happ said.

"We've got the filly Catchy and colt Gold Standard on top and they are two horses likely to get good runs.

"The value in the market based on our assessments is Gold Standard.

"He's a horse that has solid form references around recent Sydney Group I winners Trapeze Artist and Ace High and the Golden Rose is traditionally a strong form pointer for this race.

"The $9.50 is a good price and he looks a pretty solid each-way play.

"Using the Ladbrokes Odds Boost you can lock in $12 for Gold Standard and that's an attractive price."
