Flying Artie Relocating to Blue Gum Farm

Tara Madgwick - Sunday March 5

The Group I win of globetrotting sprinter Artorius in the Group I ATC Canterbury Stakes on Saturday has been the catalyst for announcing the relocation of his sire Flying Artie to Blue Gum Farm in Victoria.

Now a dual Group I winning sprinter, Artorius runs for a syndicate headed by the Newgate Farm, China Horse Club and partners and is expected to retire and stand at Newgate later this year following another European campaign.

As a result, his Group I winning sire Flying Artie, who has been at Newgate for the past six seasons, will move to Blue Gum Farm under the new ownership of Jason and Mel Stenning (Trilogy Racing) and Sean and Cathy Dingwall.

Trilogy Racing have invested in the powerful colts partnership led by Newgate Managing Director Henry Field and China Horse Club, forming a good relationship leading to this latest step in their evolution.

“Part of our growth strategy for the farm was to get back to stallions and to create the whole enterprise as we want to run it and this opportunity is through our great partnership with Newgate,” Sean Dingwall said.

“The fact that Henry has got the confidence in us to send the horse down is a tribute to the farm and the overall feeling that the farm has in the industry nationally.”

Flying Artie will stand at Blue Gum Farm this spring.

A service fee for Flying Artie will be set at a later date.
