Juvenile Trial Watch - Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Thursday March 2

Four heats at the Warwick Farm trials on Thursday morning for juveniles saw Golden Slipper contender Platinum Jubilee given a hit out wearing blinkers for the first time and an impressive trial winner for Capitalist that has a half-brother entered for Inglis Premier.

Well-seasoned Zoustar filly Platinum Jubilee led all the way for Tim Clark and cruised home to win by nearly four lengths.

Platinum Jubilee has the impeccable record of a debut win in the Group III ATC Gimcrack Stakes followed by three excellent second placings so you can see why Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott might tinker with her gear and the addition of blinkers might be the catalyst for another win.

Running slightly quicker time was her stablemate Kaizad, a Capitalist colt that improved sharply at his second trial with blinkers added to his gear. He was much quicker to muster this time and led all the way to win by a couple of lengths.

Kaizad was a $390,000 Inglis Classic purchase for  G Waterhouse / A Bott / Blueblood Thoroughbreds from the Silverdale Farm draft and is a brother to stakes-placed Socialist and half-brother to Group I placed Cornrow from the good producing stakes-winner Baby Corn that has had an impressive seven foals to race all winners!

Her yearling colt by Brutal will be offered at Inglis Premier by Maluka Thoroughbreds as Lot 287.

A third heat winner for the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable was Exceed and Excel filly Oz Princess, who is now two for two at the trials with this stylish all the way victory.

Withdrawn from Inglis Easter last year by Evergreen Rich, Oz Empress is a full sister to Group III placed winner Key being from Vanilla Princess, a winning Lonhro half-sister to Group winners Thewizardofoz and Argentia from Champion NZ 3YO Filly Princess Coup.

Vanilla Princess has a yearling colt by American Pharoah (USA) that is entered for Magic Millions Adelaide as Lot 393.
