Vicky Leonard joins the board of TBNSW

As the MD & Owner Kick Collective and Co-Owner TDN AusNZ, Vicky is leading the charge with innovation towards educating general public with the true facts of the racing and breeding industry. The Thoroughbred community embracing the movement of “Kick Up for Racing” and proudly spreading the messages across multiple channels.

Vicky joins current board members, President Hamish Esplin, Vice-President Paddy Power, Treasurer Olly Tait and fellow Directors, Peter Orton, Vin Cox and Trish Egan.

TBNSW President, Hamish Esplin welcomed Vicky’s appointment, “It’s a mistake in my view as a major stakeholder body to be passive about things we want to change including on issues like welfare, staffing pressures and the delinquency of Racing Australia which is the owner-operator of racing and breeding administration in this country. Vicky has the skills, intent and passion to effect that change positively.”

“A popular and respected media marketer and regular race-goer, Vicky is a very personable and highly professional individual and will add enormously to the current board’s skill-set.”

Vicky commented, “I’m honoured to be appointed to the Board and hope that my experience in marketing and media can assist in developing initiatives already undertaken by the Association.

"The challenges facing our industry, whether they be employment concerns, perception battles or rising costs, are best dealt with through a community-focused approach. I look forward to representing our community of breeders and helping with their needs in coming years."

With members representing the largest number of breeders of any Australian state, TBNSW is also addressing the care of our thoroughbreds away from racing and breeding, engaging in sponsorships of programs encouraging the take up of ex-racehorses and former breeding stock for new lives outside the industry.
