Godolphin's Group Chief Executive Joe Osborne announced the appointment of Cox as Managing Director of Godolphin in Australia on Thursday.

"It is an honour to be offered the position of Managing Director of Godolphin Australia," Cox said.

"This role brings together my passions of thoroughbred breeding and racing and it is a great opportunity to combine them within a world class operation like Godolphin.

"I leave a very strong and dynamic team at Magic Millions and I take this opportunity to acknowledge the support and guidance of Gerry and Katie Harvey during my time with them."

Cox takes up the head role vacated by Henry Plumptre, who resigned as Sheikh Mohammed's top man in Australia in July after being caught up in the Godolphin stangles case where he pleaded guilty to charges laid against him by stewards.

Cox will start in his new role following the Magic Millions Yearling sale series in January.

"We welcome Vin to the Godolphin team," Osborne said.

"He brings with him a wealth of international industry experience and joins us at an exciting time for our Australian operation."

With Cox exiting Magic Millions, long time employee Barry Bowditch will replace him on the Gold Coast.

"Obviously, I am thrilled to accept the position of Managing Director at Magic Millions,” Bowditch said.

"I would like to thank Gerry and Katie for entrusting me with the role, and look forward to continuing the success that Magic Millions has achieved under Vin’s leadership."
