Boom Filly Wins Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 20

Spirit of Boom has hit the top of the two year olds sires by winners list with his promising filly Sassy Boom breaking her maiden in the $85,000 Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic (1200m) at Launceston on Sunday.

Trained in Victoria by Danny O’Brien, Sassy Boom was unplaced when making her debut in the Ballarat Magic Millions 2YO Classic last year, but was a stronger filly this time around.

Tuned up with a recent trial, she powered clear to win by more than three lengths over the hometown favourite Cairns, a daughter of first season sire Stratosphere.

Sassy Boom collected the women’s bonus as she runs for a syndicate of 15 lady owners.

Sassy Boom is the eighth Australian two year-old winner of the season for Eureka Stud’s Spirit of Boom which puts him on top of the 2YO sires by winners list.

Leading sires of Australian 2YO winners four or more.
