Saturday Stakes Runner for Unencumbered

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 11
A brilliant early season juvenile, who shot to fame when winning the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, Unencumbered will have an interesting runner in the Listed MRC Inglis Debutants Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.

Tony Vasil has accepted with promising colt Gaborone, who showed good ability in a jumpout this week at Caulfield where he will make his debut.

UnencumberedOn Tuesday morning, Gaborone was allowed to stride along winning his 700 metre jumpout by six lengths under a hold. Watch his jumpout here.

It was a nice piece of work that will have the colt ready for his first start on Saturday in the 1000 metre dash for colts and fillies.

A $22,000 Magic Millions Tasmania purchase for Crown Park, Gaborone is from smart Melbourne juvenile metropolitan winner Miss Meerkat, a daughter of Golden Slipper winner Catbird.

Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young are also well pleased with their Unencumbered colt Expedius, who finished a half length second at the Cranbourne trials on Monday.

An $80,000 Magic Millions purchase for Busuttin Racing, Expedius is being aimed towards the Clockwise Magic Millions race at Ballarat in November.

He is the third foal of Denarii, whose first two foals are both winners and comes from the family of Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mirror Mirror and her stakes-winning daughter No Looking Back, who also won the rich juvenile event, but lost it in the stewards room to Driefontein.

Mirror Mirror is also the dam of Magic Millions sale-topper Chauffeur, who was second in the $2million race this year, so Expedius comes from a family with Magic Millions written all over it!

An exciting son of Victoria's favourite son Testa Rossa, Unencumbered stands at Three Bridges Thoroughbreds at a fee of $11,000.
