$320,000 Zousain Colt Headed to South Australia

Tara Madgwick - Sunday February 12

Widden Stud’s young  gun Zousain is the most represented first season sire at Inglis Classic and made a splash early when his colt from Sonnenblume sold for $320,000 to Clarken Racing from South Australia to become his highest priced colt sold this year.

$320,000 Zousain colt from Sonnenblume

Consigned by Carramar Park, the handsome chestnut colt was bred by Wayne and Pauline Alchin and is a half-brother to Group III winner Garibaldi from good producing Exceed and Excel mare  Sonnenblume, a half-sister to Group I winner Shinzig from another Group I winner in Shindig.

Sonnenblume is a sister to the dam of this season’s two year-old stakes-winner Arkansaw Kid, so it’s a very current family bristling with new winners and stakes horses.

Carramar Park have had a great run out of Sonnenblume with this colt one of a string of yearlings from the mare to sell for six figures and she is now in foal to Spirit of Boom.
