Juvenile Trial Watch – Hawkesbury

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 24

Four heats for juveniles at Hawkesbury on Tuesday featured a win for unbeaten Golden Gift winner Barber and a promising heat winner for The Autumn Sun.

Godolphin’s Exceed and Excel colt Barber is two for two and tuned up for his autumn return with a stylish win over stablemate Shaken, who improved out of sight on her first trial appearance when she was last at Warwick Farm on January 3.

By I Am Invincible from Blue Diamond winner Earthquake, Shaken was a much more tractable filly this time around and is headed in the right direction.

John O’Shea produced an interesting colt by The Autumn Sun in Sunlord, who was having his first trial and did his best work late to win by a head for James McDonald. He jumped well, but travelled deep all the way and was pretty green, but hit the line full of running.

A half-brother to Group II winner Splintex, stakes-winner Invictus Salute and stakes-placed Acqume, Sunlord was a $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Highgrove Stud draft and they will offer a Snitzel colt from his dam Acquired at Inglis Easter this year as Lot 12.

Other heat winners were: Gun (Not a Single Doubt) and Legolas (Capitalist).
