Inglis Easter - sires with four or more entries.

Of the 54 individual sires represented in the catalogue, Snitzel is the leading stallion with 40 entries ahead of I Am Invincible (39) with the likes of Written Tycoon (32), Zoustar (25), Exceed And Excel (21) and Extreme Choice (6) strongly represented.

So You Think, Fastnet Rock, Deep Field, Capitalist, Lonhro, Pierro, Russian Revolution, Savabeel, Shamus Award, Toronado, The Autumn Sun, Justify, Trapeze Artist, Per Incanto, Street Boss, Star Turn, Spirit Of Boom and Rebel Dane are amongst the other leading sires represented in the stellar catalogue.

First Season Sires including Too Darn Hot, Blue Point, Castelvecchio, Brutal, Exceedance, Magna Grecia, Pierata, Yes Yes Yes, Zousain, Omaha Beach and Brutal are also catalogued.

Of the 457 yearlings catalogued, 405 (89%) are BOBS eligible, while there are also yearlings that are Super VOBIS and Westspeed qualified.

Inglis Easter vendors with four or more entries.

There are 49 different vendors represented in the sale, headed by Arrowfield Stud with 68 entries, joined by the likes of Coolmore, Widden, Vinery, Segenhoe, Newgate, Newhaven, Yarraman, Torryburn and a host of other leading nurseries.

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch was delighted with the variety in the catalogue and urged buyers from all budget levels to take serious notice ahead of the sale.

“If you want to buy a top-class racehorse, the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale presents the best opportunity of any sale in Australasia and arguably the world,” Hutch said.

“Two of the greatest myths in Australian racing are that the Easter Sale is too expensive for the average buyer, and that there are better opportunities to buy a good 2YO at the earlier Southern Hemisphere sales.

“To the first point, of the 31 G1-winning graduates Easter has produced since 2018, eight could have been purchased for $200,000 or less, the likes of Mizzy, Exceedance, Aristia, Land Of Plenty, Zoutori, Nettoyer, Quick Thinker and Funstar, while two in three Stakes winners out of the sale since 2018 could have been bought under sale average price.

“And to the second point, statistically, since 2017, buyers are 47% more likely to get a Group or Stakes-winning 2YO from the Easter Sale than they are from our closest major Australian competitor’s primary sale in January.

“This is the sale for top-class colts, leading fillies, stallion prospects, broodmares-in-waiting, international success, you name it and Easter graduates will provide it.

“Buyers are in for a genuine treat at Riverside in April as Australia and New Zealand’s best breeders offer their best yearlings of 2023.’’

Hard copies of the Easter catalogue will be available within a fortnight.
