Pedigree Potential – Karaka 2023 – Nicks that Click

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Monday January 16

Yearling buyers had a sneak peek at the progeny of Waikato Stud’s exciting sire Super Seth last week. As the first Group I Caulfield Guineas winner in more than three decades to stand at stud in New Zealand, demand for his stock will only get stronger, with a standout catalogue of 48 yearlings at Karaka 2023 – 43 in Book 1 and five in Book 2.

Super Seth has over 40 entries for Karaka Book 1.

A top class sprinter miler by Dundeel, Super Seth is the most represented first season sire at NZB National Yearling Sale Book 1 and his draft of 43 is packed with stars, so let’s check out some of the pedigree standouts.

Dundeel has had success with the daughters of a wide variety of stallions and Super Seth has a pedigree that also features champion sires Redoute’s Choice and Zabeel as well as speed influence Rory's Jester, so there are many positives at play.

Worth considering the amazing success Waikato Stud have achieved in blending the bloodlines of their champion sires so look hard at yearlings from mares carrying the blood of O’Reilly, Savabeel, Pins and Centaine.
