Rosemont Alliance Strike for $950,000 Snitzel Colt

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 13

Mill Park Stud sold Champion 2YO Filly Away Game at Magic Millions in 2019 for $425,000 and sold her three-quarter brother-in-blood on Friday to the Rosemont Alliance and partners.

$950,000 Snitzel colt from Cocoa Doll.

By Away Game’s sire Snitzel from Cocoa Doll, a winning half-sister to Away Game and to stakes-winner Modern Wonder, the colt sold for $950,000 to Rosemont Alliance/Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA)/Julian Blaxland Bloodstock (FBAA)/Anthony Freedman Racing.

“If you’ve come to buy a Magic Millions colt, he’s the archetypical Magic Millions colt,” said Anthony Mithen.

“He’s a cracking horse for the race next year. He’s by the right stallion, three-quarter to Away Game and we know how Away Game has been.

“Hopefully we’re back here in twelve months time.”

Cocoa Doll is already the dam of Group III placed Written Swoosh, smart winner Brazen Boy and her two year-old Trapeze Artist sold for $850,000 at this sale last year when bought by Phillip Stokes.

Cocoa Doll had a filly by Zoustar last spring and was then covered by Home Affairs.

$700,000 I Am Invincible colt from Modern Wonder.

A close relation to this colt was sold on the first day of the sale with TFI/Annabel Neasham Racing/Dermot Farrington Bloodstock, paying $700,000 for Kia Ora Stud’s I Am Invincible colt from Modern Wonder.

Away Game was offered at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale last year where she was purchased by Yulong for $4million and was covered last spring by Written Tycoon.
