Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott produced a runaway debut two year-old winner by Russian Revolution on Thursday at Pakenham.

The Instructor won his only previous trial at Randwick in early December and was sent out a shrot priced favourite for the 1000m maiden with Jordan Childs to ride.

He led for home and powered clear to win by three lengths in a dominant display.

“I was positive on him from the gates to get him out and running, but once we found the rail he came back and relaxed nicely and when I asked him for an effort from the 300m he kept finding the line,” said Childs.

“He’s got plenty of improvement there and is a nice horse going forward.”

The Instructor has put himself into the picture for the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes which is great news for his big team of First Light Racing owners.

The Instructor is the third juvenile winners this season for Russian Revolution, who is also the sire of stakes-placed two year-olds Perfect Proposal and Physical Graffiti.
