$800,000 Zoustar Filly a Record for Musk Creek

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 11

Victorian based Musk Creek Farm have sold some good horses at Magic Millions including Golden Slipper winner Pierro, but they’ve never sold one more expensive than the filly by Zoustar from Personalised that fetched $800,000 on Wednesday.

$800,000 Zoustar filly from Personalised.

A half-sister to Spiritualised, who won the $250,000 Magic Millions Rising Stars race last Saturday, she was bought by Boomer Bloodstock.

She is the third foal from metro winning Snitzel mare Personalised, a half-sister to Group I VRC Oaks winner Personal and grand-daughter of blue hen Procrastinate.

“Purchased this for overseas clients. I know the family well. I purchased the dam a few years ago and know the filly well. I’ve seen her on the farm a number of times and just loved her every time I’ve seen her,” said Craig Rounsefell of Boomer Bloodstock.

“Even this week at the sales she has stepped up again. Very excited to get her although we don’t have a trainer in mind yet. We’ll break her in and take our time.”

Musk Creek Farm purchased Personalised for $525,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the advice of Rounsefell and she has proven a great investment with her first three foals now selling for just shy of $1.9million.

Personalised had no foal last year after missing in 2021, but was covered last spring by I Am Invincible.
