Verna Metcalfe and her team at Middlebrook Valley Lodge have just four yearlings for Magic Millions, but they are an appealing quartet that can follow in the footsteps of current star MVL graduate Sejardan.

A brilliant juvenile that won the G3 Breeders Plate on debut and contested the Golden Slipper, Sejardan won the G3 MVRC Red Anchor Stakes last spring and has won over $1.2million providing a sensational return on his $160,000 purchase price.

Middlebrook Valley Lodge will present three colts and a filly at the Gold Coast, all of them strong forward types bred for speed.

Lot 114 Colt Yes Yes Yes x Milanese Girl, by Snitzel

From the first crop of Everest winner and Champion 3YO Yes Yes Yes, who was also a fast precocious 2YO that started three times in December for two wins and a second. Third foal of a placed sister to G3 winner Sure Knee and grand-dam Shawnee Girl is a G2 placed three-quarter sister-in-blood to champion sire and G1 winner Northern Meteor. Her 2YO Nicconi filly Nicoise Girl is currently in work with Chris Waller.

Lot 466 Colt Star Witness x Taylor’s Command, by Commands

No guesswork with this one! Full brother to G2 ATC Silver Shadow Stakes winner Swift Witness and fast stakes-place-getter Terminology. Swift Witness was sold as a broodmare prospect last year at Magic Millions National Sale fetching $1million and was then covered by Ole Kirk reflecting the high regard in which she is held. Dam has had four winners from five to race and is a half-sister to G2 winner So Pristine, SW Restored and to the dam of Champion NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year Dijon Bleu.

Lot 716 Colt Yes Yes Yes x Chatham House, by Fastnet Rock

Another by Yes Yes Yes and they are both great examples of the progeny of their exciting young sire. Fourth foal of a metro winning Fastnet Rock mare, whose first two foals are winners. Dam is a half-sister to G3 winner Royal Discretion, SW Roulettes (dam of G3 winner Sun City and SW Parlophone) and to the dam of G2 winner Vezalay.

Lot 820 Filly Written By x Elliptical Orbit (USA), by Scat Daddy

From the second crop of a promising young sire in Written By that will have a runner in the MM 2YO Classic in The Novelist, winner of the G3 BJ McLachlan Stakes. Third foal of an unraced daughter of influential sire Scat Daddy, whose type and colouring can be seen in this filly, who comes from a great European female family that has had success in Australia to produce G1 Australian Oaks winner Gust of Wind.
