As we come to the end of 2022, Waikato Stud’s champion sire Savabeel is still setting the pace on the Australian General Sires List with more than $1million to spare over I Am Invincible and for his fans the NZB Book 1 Yearling Sale at Karaka will be the place to shop.

Savabeel added a 128th stakes-winner over the Christmas holiday with the brilliant Mark Walker trained mare Synchronize returning from a lengthy spell to win the Listed Hallmark Stud Handicap (1200m) at Pukekohe on Boxing Day.

Synchronize is the 24th stakes-winner by Savabeel from a daughter of O'Reilly - image Trish Dunell.

A $280,000 Karaka Book 1 purchase for David Ellis from the Waikato Stud draft, she is the 24th stakes-winner to be bred on Savabeel’s most productive nick with daughters of champion sire O’Reilly.

Tried and tested over a long period, this nick has produced 138 winners from 185 runners with seven Group I winners among the 24 stakes-winners –Mo’Unga, Costume,Embellish, Diademe, Savaria, Amarelinha and The Perfect Pink.

Brother-in-blood to dual G1 winner Mo’Unga from a sister to G2 winner Irlanda.

Lot 118 Filly Savabeel x Critical Angel – Cambridge Stud

Fourth foal from G3 placed Critical Angel, a half-sister to the dam of G2 winner Wolverine and daughter of G1 winner Critic.

Lot 210 Colt Savabeel x Glee – Waikato Stud

From the family of G1 winners Aegon, Daffodil, Good Faith and G2 winner Atishu, who is by Savabeel.

Lot 275 Filly Savabeel x Kansas – Waikato Stud

Sister-in-blood to G1 placed Paternal and is from winning daughter of G3 winner Breezy.
