Four year-old Snitzel stallion Veldskoen broke his maiden at his second start at Kenilworth in South Africa on Saturday.

Veldskoen wins at Kenilworth.

Trained by Brett Crawford, Veldskoen was second on debut back in September and won this 1200m maiden by three-quarters of a length as favourite.

A homebred for Ridgemont Highlands, Veldskoen is the first winner for NZ bred stakes-winner Belle Miraaj, who was bought for $470,000 at the 2017 Inglis Chairman’s Sale from the Coolmore draft by South African agent Craig Roscoe.

By Iffraaj (GB), Belle Miraaj had two foals in Austalia before being exported in 2019.
