Juvenile Trial Watch – Doomben

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 22

Coolmore shuttler Saxon Warrior (Jpn) has made a strong start with his first Northern Hemisphere bred juveniles headed by Group I winner Victoria Road and he had his first Australian barrier trial winner on Tuesday at Doomben.

Trained by Kelly Schweida, Weigall Tiger was having his first public outing and skipped clear to win his 840m heat by two and a half lengths beating the Tony Gollan trained Not a Single Double filly Hinata.

A dual Group I winner by Deep Impact, Saxon Warrior has left 22 first crop winners this year in the Northern Hemisphere highlighted by three stakes-winners and three more stakes-placed horses.

He is in Australia this spring at a fee of $19,250 and has  five yearlings for Inglis Classic and one for Magic Millions.
