One to Watch – Newcastle Beaumont

There aren’t many runners by fertility hampered outstanding sire Extreme Choice, but he posted a promising new winner at Newcastle on Tuesday.

Trained by Scott Singleton, three yar-old gelding Remlaps Commander was second on debut at Gosford earlier this month and improved on the at effort to break the ice at his second start.

Sent out a short priced favourite with Rachael Murray in the saddle, he scored by a neck.

A $70,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Mane Lodge draft for his trainer, Remlaps Commander was bred by Greg Corra and is the third winner from Mira Chavali, a half-sister by General Nediym to stakes-winner The Travelling Man.

Remlaps Commander was a bargain $70,000 Inglis Classic purchase.

Mira Chavali has been a regular visitor to the Newgate stallions and has a yearling colt by Winning Rupert and produced a colt by Cosmic Force this spring.

Extreme Choice has a crop of some 41 yearlings and nearly half of them, 18 in total, have been entered for the 2023 Magic Millions and a further eight have been catalogued for Inglis Classic.
