Sire Representation at Inglis Classic 2023

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 22

A cracking catalogue for the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale is now online so Breednet have taken a close look at sire representation for this ever popular sale.

Most represented sire is Newgate Farm’s Capitalist, who has been churning our the winners this season with his oldest progeny now four year-olds.

Capitalist

The Golden Slipper winning Champion 2YO of his generation, Capitalist has quickly established himself as a leading sire and has produced 47 winners so far this season of $2.2million highlighted by stakes-winner Economics.

Younger sires dominate the most represented sire list until we come to Vinery Stud’s proven Group I source All Too Hard, who has 20 yearlings on offer.

All Too Hard sired four Group I winners last season in Alligator Blood, Forbidden Love, Behemoth and Hong Kong based champion sprinter Wellington, so if you’re in the market for serious proven value he’s a hard sire to go past.

Heading the list of first season sires represented at Classic is Widden Stud’s Zousain, whose sire Zoustar has soared to new heights this season with Group I winning fillies in two hemispheres in Zougotcha and Lezoo.

Zousain

Zousain is a carbon copy of his sire and his stock have obviously impressed the Inglis bloodstock staff selections team with 30 accepted into the sale.

Aquis based Pierata and Newgate Farm’s Brutal each have 26 entries and both are Group I winning sons of champion sires so have much to recommend in terms of pedigree and performance.
