Fee Set for State of Rest

Last year’s Cox Plate winner State of Rest (IRE), a four time Group I winner in four different countries, will commence his stud career in the Northern Hemisphere at Rathbarry Stud before heading to Newgate Farm in Australia later in the year.

The flagbearer for his Australian bred sire Starspangledbanner, State of Rest will stand at a fee of €25,000 (A$38,559).

State of Rest wins the G1 Princes of Wales's Stakes at Royal AScot

Effective from 1200 to 2100m, State of Rest won at two, three and four winning five of 13 starts, four of those wins in Group I races.

He will seek to follow in the footsteps of successful Cox Plate winning sires such as Savabeel, So You Think, Shamus Award and Ocean Park.
