Pedigree Watch – UK- Dubawi Domination

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 17

Darley’s champion sire Dubawi had had a dazzlingly successful year in 2022 and added a new juvenile stakes-winner to his tally overnight with Godolphin homebred colt Local Dynasty taking out the Listed Silver Tankard Stakes (1m)  at Pontefract.

Trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by William Buick, Local Dynasty scored by a neck as favourite and has now three of four starts.

Local Dynasty is the 245th stakes-winner worldwide for Dubawi and is his 41st this year alone!

Local Dynasty is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to a pair of Group I winners by Dubawi in Yibir and Wild Illusion being the second winner from stakes-winning Shamardal mare Really Special.

The Dubawi x Shamardal nick has not produced a Group I winner yet, but the stats are encouraging with 24 winners from 26 runners (92% winners!) and five stakes-winners equates to 19% SW to runner.

Darley have two champion sons of Dubawi in Australia this spring in Too Darn Hot (GB) and Ghaiyyath (IRE). The former will have yearlings at the sales here next year and the latter has his first foals being born this year.
