Top price of $1.16 for Winx in early Turnbull Stakes market

Brad Waters - Wednesday October 4

A price of $1.16 is as good as a punter can get on Winx in the early betting on Saturday's Group I Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington.

Punters should be able to make a few coins backing Winx on Saturday.

Sportsbet, William Hill, CrownBet and Bet365 are offering that quote about the champion notching her 21st straight win in the $500,000 feature.

Winx has started at $1.10, $1.09 and $1.12 in her three Sydney starts this time in but the $1.16 is shorter than Winx's starting price in her three previous runs.

Predictably, bookies have the Makybe Diva Stakes winner Humidor as the only serious alternative to Winx at quotes between $4.50 and $4.80.

Ventura Storm is next in betting at odds from $26 to $34 ahead of Sir Isaac Newton at prices from $51 to $67.

Assign is a $101 chance across the board while some punters might argue bookies have Magicool and Skyfire under the odds at $301 and $501 respectively.
