Pedigree Potential – Ready to Run

Deep Field was doing the business in Australia on Saturday with a pair for new Group winners in Sky Command and English Riviera and his fans will be pleased to note there are seven quality colts by the reigning champion Hong Kong sire to be offered at the NZB Ready to Run Sale on November 16 and 17.

Given his popularity with Hong Kong buyers it’s not surprising Deep Field’s latest stakes winners are both female given so many of his better colts find themselves racing at Sha Tin and Happy Valley.

Sky Command handled the heavy 10 track at Randwick to win the Group III ATC Nivison, while three year-old filly English Riviera was fast and tenacious winning the Group III MRC Thoroughbred Club Stakes.

His lots to be offered at the Ready to Run include two from mares by Commands, the same cross that produced Sky Command and also Group II ATC Roman Consul Stakes winner Cosmic Force, who is now at stud.

Lot 83 from Ohukia Lodge is a colt from winning Commands mare Exotic Escape, the dam of three foals to race and are all winners from the family of UK Group I winners Royal Applause, Lyric Fantasy and In Command.

Lot 152 from Ohukia Lodge is the full brother to Cosmic Force and half-brother to Group III winner Onemorezeta from good producing Commands mare Little Zeta, who has left seven winners from eight runners.

This time last year, Incentivise was cutting a swathe through the Melbourne Spring Carnival reeling off three consecutive Group I wins culminating with his Caulfield Cup victory before a gallant second in the Melbourne Cup to Verry Elleegant and he has a close relation in Lot 231.

Offered by Riversley Park, this Deep Field colt is the second foal of Ra Ra Epic, a winning sibling to not only Incentivise, but also Group III winner Ardrossan and stakes-winners Bergerac and Cheyenne Warrior.

Lot 103 from Riverrock Farm is an interesting colt being the first foal of Giametti, a Fastnet Rock daughter of Group I winning sprinter Guisseppina. Deep Field has a sensational record with Fastnet Rock mares producing 21 winners from 24 runners, the best of them being Group winners Quantum Mechanic and Big Parade.

NZB made the decision to postpone its Breeze Ups for the 2022 Ready to Run Sale, with the revised contingency dates being held on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 October at Te Rapa Racecourse.

Breeze Up clips will available to watch on nzb.co.nz by Friday 21 October.
