Two on the Bounce for Magnus Filly Entremet

Mark Smith - Wednesday October 5

Few stable have a better strike rate with the progeny of Magnus than Robbie Griffiths and Mathew de Kock, who have another progressive type in the three-year-old filly Entremet.

A fighting third when on debut at Sandown on March 2, Entremet emerged from 29 weeks to break her maiden over 1100m on the Pakenham Synthetic on September 22.

The 3yo daughter of Magnus made it two in a row when successful over 1208m at Sale on Wednesday.

Given the run of the race by Patrick Moloney, Entremet defeated Bustamite (Cable Bay) by a length and a quarter with Think I'm Divine (Divine Prophet) a short-half-head back in third.

"It was a fantastic effort by the filly. She looked to be struggling on the turn, and she seemingly won softly on the line," stable representative Reid Balfour said.

"Her coat's not fully through yet. She has a bit of tidying up to do.

"We are really happy with her. She is going through the grades nicely."

Bred by Fowler Thoroughbreds, Entremet is one of eight winners from nine to race out of the Royal Academy (USA) mare Morwell.

Griffiths de Kock Racing / Peter Ford Thoroughbreds (FBAA) / Heywood Bloodstock shelled out $70,000 for a Toronado (IRE) filly out of Morwell from the Northmore Thoroughbreds draft at the 2022 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale

A half-sister to Jestarella Boy (Rory's Jester) and to the dam of Group II Skyline Stakes winner Diamond Tathagata (Hinchinbrook), Morwell has a yearling colt by Too Darn Hot (GB) and was covered last spring by Russian Camelot (Ire).
