Gloaming Stakes winner Ace High is the favourite in opening final field markets for the Group I Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.

The David Payne-trained galloper shot to Spring Champion Stakes prominence when a strong winner of Sanctioned from the James Cummings yard in the 1800m Group III set weights contest at Randwick two weeks ago.

Ace High has opened at top odds of $3.70 for the Spring Champion Stakes ahead of Sanctioned, the second favourite at $4.50.

Three other runners are in single figure odds with Tangled at $6 and Astoria and Sully on the fourth line of betting at $9.
