Kermadec Colt Stylised Impresses at Rosehill

Mark Smith - Wednesday September 28

Hollywood handsome Stylised is a standout in the paddock, and there may be a good race in him judging on his maiden win over 1400m at Rosehill on Wednesday.

Given a sweet run just off the pace by James McDonald, the 3yo son of Kermadec hit the line strongly in defeating Iron Man (Exosphere) by a length with a further neck back to Built (I Am Invincible) in third.

Stylised was coming off a close-up fifth behind the promising Redoute’s Choice colt Rediener at Warwick Farm when on debut on September 14.

Stable representative Darren Beadman said there are better days ahead for the 3yo colt.

“He’s a lovely-looking individual. A big scopey horse with a lot of strength about him,” Beadman said.

“He wasn’t a 2yo type, so the team gave him plenty of time to grow into himself.

“His first-up run was a beauty. He drew off the track – first start at 1400m. It was a hard task for him, but he put the writing on the wall the way he finished.

“ He is coming along in leaps and bounds.

“He looks a lot like his dad and will be a middle distance type.”

Stylised is the second foal of the talented Medaglia d’Oro (USA) mare Monogram, who has made a fine start to her broodmare career.

A winner in Sydney and Melbourne, Monogram was quick off the mark in her new vocation with the Group II QTC Queensland Guineas and Group II ATC Tulloch Stakes winner Character. The son of Teofilo (IRE) lines up in Saturday’s $1,500,000 Epsom Handicap.

After slipping in 2020 and 2021, Monogram foaled a colt by Dubawi’s 4-time Group 1 winner Ghaiyyath (IRE) on August 18.
