First Winner for Jungle Ruler

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 3
The first at Echuca on Monday (2/10) was a 3yo Fillies maiden over 1100m and provided the mighty Jungle Ruler with his first race winner.

Jungle Ruler

Jungle Ruler

The field predominantly comprised first starters, with Jungle Queen, the only grey in the field being a stand out. She jumped from barrier 8, moved forward to sit outside the leader and then made the race her own by taking the lead at the 200m mark, winning by ¾ of a length.

Bred by Dr. Nigel and Meredith Berry's Illowra Stud, she is the last foal from the 4 time winning mare Tinge Of Gold. Jungle Queen is now owned in partnership with trainer Christopher Davis and didn't need to travel far from his training base in Wangaratta.

Jungle Queen had previously won a trial at Tatura which was obviously missed by punters as she started at the excellent odds of $31. If she pulls up well, she will be set for a 3yo fillies race at Moonee Valley as her next assignment.

Jungle Queen is from Jungle Ruler's first crop and only his second starter. Jungle Ruler stands at Bombora Downs Stud on the Mornington Peninsula for $2,750 and his progeny are receiving some really good reviews from trainers and breakers alike.

He is a great "Breed to Race" stallion producing tough and durable racehorses like himself. It is only onwards and upwards from here.
