The release of entries for the Group I Caulfield Guineas and Thousand Guineas has added plenty of interest to competitive maiden events which are often the first stepping off point for potential contenders, so let’s take a look at the runners today at Kembla that hold entries.

While stakes races in Sydney and Melbourne are packed with the obvious horses that have already shown their stakes credentials, the Kembla meeting features a number of talented horses looking for a softer option to begin their spring.

Stakes horses, but yet to win are Shalatin and Pantonario, who are both entered for maiden events at Kembla although the former is also an acceptor for the Group III ATC Up and Coming Stakes.

Perfect Thought was a $120,000 Magic Millions purchase for DGR Thoroughbreds.

Impressive So You Think colt Perfect Thought was luckless when resuming from a spell in town and is also an obvious watch horse, while the John O’Shea stable has been running hot with Savabeel colt Bunker Hut overdue to win after two placings at his only starts.
