Inglis Easter Sale-Topper Breaks Maiden

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 2
For people who follow the fortunes of expensive yearlings the ninth race on the Kranji program in Singapore on Sunday will have caught the eye.

$2.2 million Snitzel colt from AdmirelleFour year-old Snitzel gelding Paparazzi opened his account with a dominant victory over 1200 metres at his first run in Singapore after finishing second at his only two starts in Australia for Peter and Paul Snowden as Shaheen.

A full brother to Group I winner and now promising young sire Sizzling, Paparazzi fetched $2.2 million to top the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for Milburn Creek Stud and was bought by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.

Needless to say, Paparazzi is no longer owned by the Sheikh and is now raced by War Stable and trained by Shane Baertshiger.

Paparazzi is the second winner for stakes-placed General Nediym mare Admirelle, whose current two year-old colt by I Am Invincible made $900,000 at Magic Millions earlier this year.

Named Still Invincible and trained by Tony McEvoy, he showed natural brilliance to win a Cranbourne barrier trial on September 4.

Admirelle has another yearling colt by Snitzel for the sales next year.
