Stakes placed maiden Naval Fleet online now

Media Release - Thursday August 4

Pencarrow Stud’s stakes placed Declaration of War mare Naval Fleet is one of 61 quality Lots currently being auctioned on gavelhouse.com.

Naval Fleet is for sale.

As part of the Stud’s policy to keep numbers at a manageable level, their latest offering includes three maiden mares that have been rugged and under a lighting program to ensure the best chance of an early conception. The light hoods the mares have been wearing will go with the mares when sold.

“We are set to foal down 45 mares this season and have eight maiden mares we are retaining plus nine more we’ll be offering for sale in due course,” said Pencarrow Manager Leon Casey.

“Our policy is to be constantly reviewing our numbers and we wanted to offer prospects at different levels of the market so that everyone has the opportunity to tap into successful Pencarrow lines that we have been developing for generations.”

A very competitive race mare, Naval Fleet won three up to 1500m and placed on 13 occasions from 21 starts. Her dam Navy Beach (Darci Brahma) is a winner of two and is from the Gone West mare Beyond the Sunset who has produced stakes winners Te Akau Coup and Don Garcia.

Other Pencarrow Stud mares in the auction include:
