Ridden by Yuga Kawada for trainer Mitsumasa Nakauchida, Liberty Island settled midfield before easing out to the running line in the straight.

Under a very kind ride, the daughter of Duramente won by a widening three lengths from the Fine Needle colt Cruzeiro do Sul, with the Lord Kanaloa colt Emanuele a head back in third.

Carrying the colours of Sunday Racing, Liberty Island went off a short-priced favourite for the 1600m Newcomer race.

She is the second winner from as many foals for Yankee Rose (All American), who won the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes and Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes.

The first foal of Yankee Rose, the ¥210 million (A$2.54 million) Deep Impact filly Romneya broke her maiden over 1800m at Fukushima on July 10.

Yankee Rose has a yearling colt by Lord Kanaloa, which sold for ¥370 million (A$4.48 million), at the JRHA Select Sale foal session.

The daughter of All American has a filly foal by Japanese Derby winner Kizuna.
