Heaven's Wish Makes it 21 for Spirit Of Boom

Mark Smith - Wednesday July 13

The Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained Heaven’s Wish became the 21st two-year-old winner of the season for Spirit Of Boom following a professional display at her career debut in a 1000m maiden at Murray Bridge on Wednesday.

Ridden by Jake Toeroek, Heaven’s Wish jumped in front and led at every call to defeat Lady Wairua (Charm Spirit) by one and a half lengths, with a further one and a quarter lengths back to Lord Bentley (Akeed Mofeed) in third.

“We had her full-sister Heaven’s Deal, which won a stakes race. So, we bought her off the back of that as she is very similar, and that was a nice win on debut and an east watch,” Richard Jolly said.

“We’ve only had a few (Spirit Of Booms), and they have all been nice horses.

“I will give her a couple of months off and let her mature. She has done her job, and we had to tread carefully getting her here today. Not that there is anything wrong with her, but she is immature, and we will see her back in the late spring.”

The daughter of Spirit Of Boom was purchased by her trainers for $60,000 from the Cornerstone Stud draft at the 2021 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
