Winning Saturday for Aquis Sires

Tara Madgwick - Sunday July 30
The Aquis Farm stallion roster features a stunning array of up and coming sires, but also some proven favourites with Husson, (Arg), Domesday and Al Maher all posting metropolitan winners on Saturday.

Four year-old Husson gelding Mr Epic sent his earnings soaring past the $400,000 mark with a dominant three-quarter length win in the 2000 metre open handicap at Doomben as favourite.

Prepared by Toby Edmonds, Mr Epic has won eight of 27 starts and looks to have many more wins in store.

Husson has enjoyed a great season with some 76 winners of over $4.5 million in prizemoney highlighted by four stakes-winners – Frolic, Moral Victory, Lucky Hussler and Husson Eagle.

Domesday sired the very next winner on the program at Doomben with four year-old Ingeegoodbe rewarded for his recent consistency with a log head win over 1600 metres.

It was the third win for the Robert Heathcote trained gelding, who is one of 65 winners this season for Domesday.

His offspring have won $3.9 million and include five stake-sinners headed by Group I BRC Queensland Derby winner Ruthven and unbeaten juvenile stakes-winner Royal Symphony.

Vaucluse BayAl Maher chimed in at Rosehill where his progressive three year-old Vaucluse Bay made it back to back metropolitan wins when bolting away to win over 2000 metres by four lengths as favourite.

The Chris Waller trained gelding has won three of 11 starts earning over $195,000 for his lucky owners and will look to target a similar race in a fortnight.

Al Maher has had 78 winners of over $4.4 million this season including three stakes-winners - Monsieur Gustave, Silverstream and Classic Uniform, who was beaten a whisker in the Listed ATC Winter Challenge Stakes on Saturday at Rosehill.

Husson and Domesday stand at Aquis Farm Queensland at fees of $13,200 and $8,800 respectively, while Al Maher is at Aquis Farm, NSW at a fee of $13,200.

For breeders seeking a reliable proven option for their young untried mares, these stallions offer proven Group I producing ability at realistic affordable fees.
