Written Tycoon's Tyresa Blows Them Away in Tattersalls Life Members Stakes

Mark Smith - Saturday June 25

The two-year-old Written Tycoon filly Tyresa completed a great day for trainer Kelly Schweida with a hugely impressive performance in the Listed Tattersall's Life Members Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm.

Ridden by Larry Cassidy, Tyresa came with a barnstorming finish to defeat the Spirit Of Boom filly Honey Pot by two and a half lengths with Divine Prophet filly Kamitori a half-neck back in third.

Making her seventh start of the season, Tyresa has been thereabouts since winning over the same track and distance on April 2.

It franks the form of Sheeza Belter who had Tyresa well behind her in the Group 1 JJ Atkins and Group II BTC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

“All her runs have been good. In the Group 1 the other day Larry thought she have finished closer than three lengths,” Schweida said.

“We really freshened her up. black-type is so important. She’s a three-quarter sister to Capitalist.

“Our jockey was pretty confident, and I thought she was over the odds. They are a good bunch of owners in this horse.

“She’s been in for a long time. This is her first prep, really. We tricked with ten days (between runs) but she’ll go for a break. But winning black type is gold for these fillies.”

Tyresa a $90,000 Magic Millions yearling

Bred by Nick Vass, Tyresa was a $90,000 purchase for her trainer from the Newgate Farm draft at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

She is the first foal to race out of the unraced Real Saga mare Stresa, a half-sister to Golden Slipper and Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner Capitalist.

Not surprisingly Stresa visited Written Tycoon in her first five seasons and Derby Racing purchased her yearling filly for m$180,000 at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

After foaling a Written Tycoon colt last spring, Stresa missed to Deep Field and Flying Artie.

Tyresa is the 49th stakes-winner for Yulong Stud’s champion stallion Written Tycoon who commands a fee of $165,000 in 2022.
