Dynamic Debut for Caravaggio 2YO

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 18

Unbeaten in two barrier trials, 2YO Caravaggio (USA) gelding Baroque Road took that winning form to the races on Wednesday to salute on debut at Randwick for some very happy Dynamic Syndications owners.

Sent out favourite, he led all the way for Nash Rawiller and kicked strongly in the straight to win the 1100m maiden by three and a half lengths.

A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase for Dynamic Syndications/Dean Watt Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Coolmore draft, Baroque Road is a half-brother to stakes-placed Independent Road being the sixth winner from six to race from well bred import Malibu Road (USA).

Baroque Road as a yearling.

Malibu Road is a grand-daughter of Kentucky Oaks winner Blush With Pride, who has spawned an impressive dynasty of stakes-winners highlighted by Group I winners Rags to Riches, Jazil, Streaming, Peeping Fawn and Thewayyouare, so Baroque Road is not short on pedigree..

Baroque Road is the second Australian winner from the first and only Australian crop by Scat Daddy’s Group I winning sprinter Caravaggio, who is on the US Coolmore roster this year at a fee of $US35,000.

Caravaggio has shown good promise in the Northern Hemispehre siring five stakes-winners headed by Group I winning fily Tenebrism.
