Super simple stuff for Sydney mare at Valley

Racing was in its simplest form in Friday night's heat of the Ladbrokes 55-Second Challenge (955m) at Moonee Valley.

Super Too showed speed from the inside gate, maintained a good pace through the middle stages and kept going to score easily.

"I don't think I've ridden a faster filly," Super Too's rider Blake Shinn said.

"She's just got sustained speed from start to finish and I utilised that.

"I knew we were going to be very hard to beat coming here today, especially drawing barrier one."

Super Too comfortably held the fast-finishing Rock 'N' Gold while Madeenaty made ground on the home turn before peaking on her run late to finish third.

Super Too ran well in Melbourne last spring but her trainer Marc Conners said the daughter of Hinchinbrook had missed a run after her win in record time at Randwick on August 19.

"We had a hiccup a couple of weeks ago and we missed a run in Sydney and this race was always on the radar for us," Conners said.

The four-year-old clocked 55.86 seconds for the 955m trip, which is more than a second outside Vatican's course record but Conners said Super Too could go quicker in the right conditions.

Conners said Super Too would head back to Sydney on Saturday morning but could return to Melbourne for races later in the spring carnival.
